Northern Ontario has unique challenges requiring unique solutions. Here in the North, high energy costs are a reality.
That’s why, in this year’s budget, we announced a new, permanent tax credit to help Northern families and individuals cope with the high cost of gas and electricity.
If you pay rent or property taxes and live in Northern Ontario, you may be eligible for up to $130 (for an individual) or $200 (for a family) in annual tax credits to offset the cost of energy.
The Northern Ontario Energy Credit is available to eligible residents of the districts of Algoma, Cochrane, Kenora, Manitoulin, Nipissing, Parry Sound, Rainy River, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Timiskaming.
Over half of all Northerners will benefit, so click the button below to download your application form today!
